What's Better for muscle GROWTH, THE BURN OR FATIGUE? Someone asked me why high reps feel different than low reps and which is better for muscle growth and hypertrophy gains. The truth is: both. Each plays a part in breaking down different muscle fibres. The heavier weight will be more aggressive in doing this, especially on the joints and the fast twitch fibres, so too much is overkill. That's where the higher reps and lighter weights can come in and save the day. By using the higher reps to pump blood into the area, you can enhance your recovery and this will lead to more strength and higher amounts of muscle mass gains. So the two work together in perfect synergy.
